Question: The yellow "Check Engine Light" recently came on my tractor. I haven't noticed any difference in my power, but I'm a bit concerned. What does the light mean? Will my engine fail?
Answer: This is a good question -- and it's one we get a lot. When that pesky yellow light comes on, it means that the computer in your vehicle is sensing a problem with your system. The system is designed to make your engine run properly and more fuel efficient. While your engine may seem to work fine, the yellow light indicates that your fluid levels may be dropping or feedback sensors have detected a problem. Since the electronic controls on power plants is a crucial feature found on many diesel engines nowadays, I highly recommend you have the system checked by a certified mechanic as soon as possible. |
